International Book Giving Day and Lost My Name Book Competition

main

As well as being Valentine’s Day today, it is also International Book Giving Day.

International Book Giving Day was established to help increase children’s access to and enthusiasm for books. There are 3 ways you can celebrate Book Giving Day –  1) Give a book to a child (new or used), 2) Buy a book and leave it in a waiting room where children will appreciate it (I love this idea), 3) Donate a book – look out books your children no longer read and donate them to a  library, children’s hospital or shelter. If you would like to send the books to children outside of the UK  you could donate the books to an organisation working internationally. If you would like more information on Book Giving Day please head over to the website bookgivingday.com.

You might recognise the image of the lovely The Little Girl Who Lost Her Name book and The Little Boy Who Lost His Name book at the top of this post. Maxx and I reviewed the books last year and fell in love with the concept, loveable characters and the quality of the book.

The Lost My Name Book is aimed at children aged 2 to 6 years. The book tells the story of a little girl or boy who has lost their name, they must go in search of the missing letters in order to find their name. Along the way they meet many wonderful and fun characters who help them find the missing letters. The book is exciting and engaging making for a fun bed time for all involved. You can read our review of the book here.

If you would like to buy your own Lost My Name Book and get involved in Book Giving Day then you’re in luck. I have a code which will give you 20% off  books on the Lost My Name website. The code is valid for today ONLY so don’t hang around. Enter the code: bookgivingday20 at the checkout.

If you like the sound of the Lost My Name Book then keep reading as we have a fantastic competition where one lucky reader will win a code which will let them create their own book! Entering is easy, simply complete the steps on the rafflecopter form below.

A beautiful bird called Beaut. Who would kindly fly and collect some of the letters for the child. Once the letters are all collected, and put in the correct order :- Beaut calls out the name. As she has been taught to speak by her human owner.
