Festival Essentials 2014

festival essentials 2014

The UK plays host to some amazing festivals throughout the summer, we’ve already had Glastonbury but there are still so many amazing festivals to look forward to. The following festivals are kicking off soon, Wireless Festival July 4th – 6th, British Summer Time July 4th – 13th, T in the Park July 11th – 13th, Latitude Festival 17th to 20th July, Global Gathering July 25th – 26th, V Festival August 16th to 17th, Reading and Leeds Festival August 22nd – 24th, Bestival September 4th – 7th and that’s just a small selection!

Choosing what to take to a festival can be tricky, usually space is limited so deciding what is and isn’t essential is a must. I have put together a list of some fantastic products that are a must have this festival season and will hopefully help you decide what to take!

Wellies

It’s Festival season and just in time the rain has arrived, typical! Don’t let that spoil your fun though as Crocs have an amazing range of wellies and boots with something to suit everyone. There are short wellies and long wellies plus a whole host of colours and designs to choose from. Comfort is important at festivals, you’re on your feet for hours on end come rain, sun or snow. Crocs have thought about comfort when it comes to their range of wellies and I can personally tell you they are one of the most comfortable brand of wellies I have tried. I would highly recommend taking a look at the ladies RainFloe boots which are available in 5 different colours, festival feet in an instant!

Wet Wipes

With the lack of showers and mud galore wipes are a MUST have this festival season. I love the range of wipes available from Halo as there’s a wipes for everything. There are eye make up remover pads – nobody wants to look like a panda, handy hygienic wipes so you don’t pick up any nasty bugs, deodorant wipes, moist toilet tissue and toilet and surface wipes. Halo wipes are available from Tesco, Sainsbury, Superdrug, Spar and Boots so they are easy to pick up when you’re shopping for your other festival essentials and with most of the wipes costing just 99p they should be at the top of your must buy list.

Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo will be every girl or guys’s best friend this festival season! With no showers, hair dryers or straighteners in sight dry shampoo can be a lifesaver and help keep your lovely locks looking luscious. Batise is top dog when it comes to Dry Shampoo, they even have travel size products which are perfect for festivals and holidays. The product is so simple to use, simply spray it on to the roots of your hair then massage through with your fingers and style as normal! The travel size cans are available for around £1.50 each and you can find them in most major supermarkets and pharmacies.

Zap-It

This might not be something you have given much thought to but you really should! There’s nothing worse than your day being ruined by an insect bite, who wants to spend their day itching when you should be enjoying yourself. There’s a great solution to this age old problem and what’s more it will fit comfortably in your pocket. Zap-It works by generating a harmless and mild low electrical impulse to deliver harmless little zaps which take the itch out of bites. What’s more it’s suitable for ages 2+ and has an RRP of just £5.95. It is available in different colours from selected pharmacies,  health stores, Superdrug and ASDA stores, it is also available to buy online from Ecobrands.

Poncho/Rain Mac

I have already mentioned the rain and I don’t want to put a damper on festivities (no pun intended) but this is Britain and our summers are known for the weather being unpredictable so taking a poncho or a rain mac with you is definitely a good idea. There is a massive range of products available, I love the see through macs as it lets you show off your clothes underneath whilst staying dry but there are also some great fancy dress poncho’s and mac’s available so go wild and pick something you love.

Eye-Fi Mobi

If you’re anything like me you’ll take your camera with you to the festival and take thousands of picture and want to share them with your friends on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram etc. If this sounds like you then you should think about picking up an Eye-Fi Mobi SD card for your camera, the smart SD instantly transfers your photos quickly and wirelessly from your camera to your smartphone or tablet. It means you can take great quality images with your camera but still be able to share them easily with your friends using your phone or tablet. You don’t need a wireless network as the clever SD card creates it’s own WiFi so you can use it whereever you are – perfect for festivals. You can buy an 8gb Eye-Fi SD card for £33.99 from Amazon and the Eye-Fi website.
