We are always trying to find ways to make our room look it’s best. After all, we want to make it look appealing for the sake of our family and guests. But there are often things laying around which can ruin the whole appearance of the room. However, it will only take some simple changes to turn things around. In fact, here are some not-so-obvious ways to boost your room’s appeal.
Hide those pesky wires
It’s common for people to have several things plugged in their room. After all, if it’s their living room, they might have the TV plus a Freeview box, and a DVD player all in one area. But while they are perfect for your entertainment pleasure, they are not so good for the appeal of the room. After all, those wires can end up being an eye-catching feature. And it can instantly bring down the appeal of the room. In fact, your tidy room can instantly look cluttered and disorganised. Therefore, turn things around by hiding those pesky wires. You might want to get some form of cable tidy boxes which will hide them from view. Or you could even get a cover which you can put over to make it look cleaner. And not only will it look better, but it’s also safer if you have friends will kids over. And if you have a wall mounted TV, rather than having them on display, drill a hole behind the TV. That way, you can put the wires in there to stop them being in view!
Go compact when it comes to appliances and boilers
It’s so easy to have large appliances in your kitchen. After all, a lot of the older models are large in size. And the same goes for your boiler; these can stand out like a sore thumb in your cooking quarters. And can ruin the appeal of your cooking quarters when you have guests over in your kitchen! Therefore, you should consider going for new appliances and boilers which are compact so can be easily hidden away. For example, a new boiler can often be fitted inside a cupboard, so it stays out of sight. And also opt for smaller appliances which don’t overwhelm your sides. In fact, opt for microwaves and dishwashers which are built into the cupboards to keep the sides clear in your kitchen.
Declutter those photos
I don’t know about you, but I love putting photographs up of my nearest and dearest on my walls. After all, it reminds me of how much I love them. But a lot of us go wrong by cluttering the walls full of photos. And with so much going on in the room, it can instantly bring down the room’s appeal. In fact, it can clutter their mind with so many photos. Therefore, declutter those photos and just save a couple for your wall. In fact, you might want to go for a couple of canvases instead of your favourite photos. And with more free wall space, it will make the room look bigger and cleaner than before!
Remember to always opt for plenty of storage in the rooms in your house. That way, it will stop you putting things all over the sides which will bring down the appeal!
