If you have the time or want to get little ones involved, why not set up the tablet to make the occasion extra special. Placemats, napkins, candles, drinks, condiments, and not forgetting every dad’s favourite sauce – HP! Having been around since 1899, HP has been a firm favourite in family homes for over a hundred years. It’s no surprise then that HP Sauce is the UK’s no. 1 brown sauce with a whopping 28 million bottles being consumed every year. Fun fact: If the bottles were stacked on top of each other, they would reach the same height as 6,189 Houses of Parliament – wow!
A Sunday roast
A British tradition on a Sunday in many households and a tasty meal that’s sure to be enjoyed by not only dad but the whole family. Whether you choose chicken, lamb or beef, a roast is a great option. If you’re able to prepare the veg and potatoes the evening before then you won’t have lots of prep to do on Father’s Day so you can spend more time together as a family. Just don’t forget the Yorkshire puddings!
Pie and chips
Good old pie and chips is always a winner. Chicken and mushroom, beef and ale or steak and kidney, there’s a lot of choices which means there’s not only something dad will like but the whole family. Add a side of chips, some peas or veg and you will have one delicious Father’s Day meal. Why not treat dad to a cheeky pint of his favourite tipple with his dinner too.
Who doesn’t love a tasty fry-up? Perhaps the most time-consuming meal with all of the different elements, but it’s possibly the tastiest too. Bacon, sausages, fried eggs, hash browns, toast, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, the ingredient list is endless so there will be a combination to get everyone’s taste buds tingling. A fry-up wouldn’t be the same without lashings of everyone’s favourite brown sauce though, would it?! Of course, you could keep things simple and make some delicious sausage or bacon rolls, you could even add an egg or two – yum!
