THIS IS 40 – DVD Review

THIS IS 40 is the sort of sequel to Knocked Up. It arrives on BLU-RAY™ and DVD from the 24th JUNE 2013
THIS IS 40 is written, directed and produced by Judd Apatow. The film follows Pete (Paul Rudd) and wife Debbie (Leslie Mann) as they both turn 40. The married couple have two daughters, eight-year-old Charlotte (Iris Apatow) and 13-year-old Sadie(Maude Apatow), they live in a nice house in a nice neighbourhood but things aren’t as they seem. Pete’s record label is failing, Debbie suspects her young employee is stealing from her and the couple are at loggerheads about Pete giving money to his dad, THIS IS 40 see’s the couple trying to resolve the issues in their work and home life without killing each other.
If you are looking for that laugh out loud DVD then THIS IS 40 is a good bet. I did wonder if you had to be of a certain age to appreciate the film but that wasn’t the case. I think age is irrelevant, if you have a sense of humour you will enjoy the film.
The only downside to the film is the running time. It lasts 133 minutes which I thought was longer than necessary. There were a few parts in the film that went on for a while but didn’t add anything to the story. However we all laughed throughout and really enjoyed it.
You can pre-order THIS IS 40 now, it is available to buy from the 24th of June. Don’t miss out!
