I recently found out about an exciting event being run each month in my local area, I booked tickets as soon as I found out about it and can’t wait to go. The event I’m talking about is our local Roller Disco! A fun evening out which includes music, lots of laughs, exercise and hopefully no falling over!
I thought it would be fun to put together a vintage inspired outfit that wouldn’t look out of place at the roller disco. You can really have a lot of fun with vintage inspired outfits, mixing and matching items and adding a splash of colour here and there.
Dresses are something I don’t wear often, mainly because I don’t think they suit my body shape at present. Once I have lost another stone I think it will be a different matter entirely and I’m looking forward to get my hands on some gorgeous dresses for the Summer. I came across some lovely vintage dresses online recently at Vivien Of Holloway. They are absolutely gorgeous, it took me a while to choose just one but in the end I picked the 1950’s Halterneck English Blossom Dress. I absolutely love the style, the pattern, the colours, everything about it and it fits the vintage theme perfectly.
Keeping a bit of mystery on a night out is always a good idea, so I decided to include a pair of very stylish Tom Ford sunglasses from My Glasses Guru. I love the neutral colour, the shape and they would look great with everything else on the wishlist. The fact that they could also easily be paired with other outfits thanks to the colour made them a great choice.
Denim is on it’s way back for Spring/Summer 2016 so when I saw this lovely Oversized Jacket from Topshop, I knew it would be the perfect item to pair with the gorgeous dress. It adds a touch of vintage charm to the outfit and can also easily be paired with other outfits and styles too.
I have to say I love buying new bags. There are so many bags out there that the ones I have are never enough! The Vintage Clutch I included in the outfit is gorgeous, I really like the colour, style and the size! You don’t need a bulky bag if you’re only going out for the evening and I’m pretty sure I could fit the basics and more inside so this is definitely the perfect bag for this outfit.
This is an outfit inspired by Roller Disco so I had to include a pair of vintage style roller skates. There’s actually quite a good selection available, but I love the colour and style of the Moxi Lolly Quad skates. They come in a few different colours and although they are pricey at £249 (fairy godmother, please drop a pair in my lap!), they are lovely and are built to last. It’s worth noting that you don’t need your own skates to go to most roller disco events, you can hire them for around £2.50 which is definitely more purse friendly.
