I love blogging, I enjoy writing and coming up with new post ideas even if it isn’t always easy. I often moan about blogging (my family and friends will confirm this), the fact I have things to blog about but just can’t get the words to flow into sentences is usually my biggest gripe (is this what they call writers block?!) as well as not being able to concentrate as my nephew either a) wants to play b) wants to play or c) doesn’t stop talking and asking me questions ha ha but I still love it through good and bad times. I was recently thinking about what I really like and love about blogging and there’s actually quite a lot, you can find out why I love blogging below.
The blogging community
I love the blogging community. It is a lovely place, I have received so much help, motivation and advice since I started blogging. There’s always someone who is willing to help if there’s a problem or get involved in an idea, it really is a nice community to be a part of and I have made some truly amazing friends through blogging.
Growing as a person
I feel like I have grown a lot as a person since I started blogging, of course 2 years have gone by which means I’m a whole two years older (how did that happen?!) but I have learnt a lot about myself. I have grown in confidence since I started blogging and get involved in things I never thought I would before.
Learning and improving my skills
I have gained so many new skills through blogging. I have always been confident with computers having studied computing at college but since I started blogging I have developed skills in areas and learnt new skills. I have definitely improved my photo editing and graphic design skills and enjoy putting together pictures and designs for blog posts. I like to think I have a good grasp of the english language but I have noticed since I started blogging that I don’t have to use spell check as much, in fact I can’t remember the last time I used it so my spelling is definitely on the up too!
Working with brands
I have had a lot of great opportunities to work with many different individuals and brands since I started blogging. I have worked with companies to review items, services and restaurants, I have also worked with companies to produce sponsored posts. So far my experiences working with companies have all been very positive and I have enjoyed working with them all, one company I have worked with on a few occasions is Total Media, they are a digital agency in London and have been great. I hope to continue working with them in the future. It’s lovely being approached by a brand and being asked to work with them because they really like your blog or style of writing.
I class myself as being extremely lucky as I am able to make some money (no I’m not going to be a millionaire any time soon) doing something I love. When I started blogging I never imagined I would be paid to blog and I am really grateful to get the opportunity to make money from my blog. I try to ensure posts always remain interesting and relevant to my readers even when I am being paid so I tend to write a post I had planned and work the link into that rather than work around the link.
I started blogging as a bit of a diary to blog about trips, days out and things I love etc as I thought it would be lovely to have my blog to look back. I was right as I love looking back over the last two years of posts and looking at the things I have done and also seeing my nephew grow as I often blog about him too. As well as the memories I have written about I have been able to create fantastic memories thanks to blogging and hope to make lots more over the coming years.
So those are just some of the reasons I love blogging. I could go on and on as there really is so much I love about blogging and being a blogger but those are the things that really jump out at me when I think about why I love blogging!
