Most of you know I recently went on holiday to Brussels with family over the Easter break. It was a bit of a road trip as we drove there and back which was roughly 6 hours each way.
As we were traveling in the car it meant space for luggage was limited so I had a small suitcase to fit 4 days worth of clothes in, now this might be easy for some but I found it a struggle making sure I had enough clothes for hot and cold weather and for wet and windy – just in case!
Luckily for me before I went on holiday I was asked to choose some items from the new George at ASDA Holiday Shop to try. To start with I didn’t really know what I wanted so had a good look around before finally choosing the items listed below.
I have a small addiction to bags, I don’t know what it is about them that makes me want to buy them but I do! My first stop when I visited the Holiday Shop was the bag section where I fell in love with a gorgeous orange satchel. I loved the colour, the size and the whole look so that was the first item in the bag, I know terrible right!?
The next items I looked at were tops, I don’t have a huge selection of summer tops as I had a clear out recently so need to buy a few new ones. I wanted something light weight and neutral so it wouldn’t clash too much with the bag. I found a few tops that I really liked but after much umming and ahhing I decided upon the lovely Lase Tassel Top which was priced at just £8 – bargain! It looked lovely online and even better in person, it’s so versatile as you can wear it over any coloured t-shirt. It would be perfect for teaming with shorts for the up coming music festivals!
Okay lets talk about feet, I can’t walk in heels! Sad but true. I knew before looking at the shoe selection that I wanted something without a heel or a very small heel as I didn’t fancy going all my length when browsing the shops in Brussels. There are a few lovely sandals available but I often find sandals can be uncomfortable and it’s better to try them on in store before buying them so I had a look at some alternative footwear. There is an affordable range of canvas trainers available which looked comfortable and are available in a range of colours so I decided to try a pair of those in a nice navy blue. They came up a bit big but were really comfortable to wear and even after a full day of sight seeing my feet were comfortable and blister free! Well worth the £8 price tag.
Last but not least I was hoping that we would be lucky enough to enjoy some sunshine on holiday so I picked some gold aviator sunglasses which looked lovely. They look great and are perfect for any outfit combination, a must have holiday item. I’m glad I chose them as we were really lucky with the weather and it was really hot and sunny 3 out of the 4 days of our holiday.
Overall I was really impressed with the choice available, not only is there a woman’s section there is also a men’s and children’s section too so you can buy all of your holiday items in one place. The items I received were all good quality items and they were all reasonably priced too. If you’re heading off on holiday soon or if you’re looking for some summer clothes take a look at the Holiday Shop, you’re sure to find something you like.
