If you follow me on Instagram you might be aware that I have recently started following Slimming World again. I have tried this in the past with some success but I have never stuck to the plan 100%. However, with a holiday fast approaching at the end of August I would like to lose some weight so I have started following Slimming World religiously and so far I have lost 7lbs in two weeks which I’m happy with.
There are a few reasons I want to lose weight, when I started Slimming World two weeks ago I was just in the obese range with a BMI of 30.8, That’s now down to the overweight range but I would like to bring it down further. I would also like to feel better in my clothes and I want to improve my fitness along the way. I’m really looking forward to the coming weeks and months to see how my weight loss journey progresses and one thing I can’t wait to do is go shopping for new clothes, especially dresses.
Although it might be raining today, summer is on the way and I have been doing a bit of window shopping in preparation for buying some new items for my wardrobe. I have mainly been looking at dresses because at present I have two in my wardrobe so I’m definitely in need of a few more, I have found a lot of dresses I like, below I have shared 5 of my favourite dresses from direct home shopping company, Fashion World.
STUDIO 8 RICHMOND DRESS
I have a top in a similar style and love it so when I saw the dress it had to go on my top 5 list. I really like the mesh design and the poppy field style print is absolutely beautiful. I like the fact it has sleeves and the red band around the waist pulls the whole dress together, although this can be removed if preferred. I also think the style would suit my shape which is a plus as I often find dressing my shape is the hardest part of clothes shopping. At £150 the dress isn’t one I would buy for a day at the beach but it would be perfect for a wedding or special occasion.
BLUE FLORAL MINI RUFFLE DRESS
I like to try and pick colourful items when it comes to summer fashion, brighter colours and floral prints usually jump out at me and I love this gorgeous blue floral ruffle dress. It would be the perfect dress for a day shopping or a day at the beach because it looks lovely and lightweight, perfect for the hotter summer days. The ruffles are perfectly placed to flatter and I think teamed with a nice belt and sandals it would look lovely or I could even dress it up with a pair of heels and a nice clutch bag.
MESH YOKE BURN OUT DRESS
This dress is a little dressier than the others I have chosen so although I wouldn’t wear it to the beach I would wear it for a nice day out or perhaps an evening meal. I really like the floral design and panelling which give the dress a unique look, the colours are also really nice and make it look really summery. I would pair this with some high heels and a nice clutch bag to create the perfect outfit.
EMBROIDERED SOFT TENCEL DENIM LACE UP DRESS
With a lace-up neck, embroidery design and pompoms, this dress couldn’t be more on trend. I don’t have many denim items in my wardrobe (apart from a few pairs of jeans), so I think it’s about time I added a denim item or two and this dress is lovely. I really like the embroidered detail, it gives off a very spring/summer feel and the pompoms on the sleeves and bottom of the dress add a really fun element. I could definitely see me wearing this dress at the beach or when out and about for the day.
COLD SHOULDER STRETCH PROM DRESS
Although I normally prefer colourful dresses during the summer months I do really like the style of this dress so I can overlook the dark colour. I really like the cold shoulder tops and dresses, I think they always sit really well and look lovely. Although the colour is predominately black, the floral design adds a lot of colour and style to the dress and I think it would be perfect for the summer months.
What do you think of my top 5 picks? Would you wear any of the dresses I chose?
