Although the rooftops are glistening with frost on this chilly morning we are edging ever closer to spring. With just under a month until the official start of springtime in the UK, we can start looking forward to lighter evenings and warmer days. Slowly but surely the first signs of spring are appearing, the days are growing longer, the sun is shining brighter and there are pops of colour beginning to appear.
The first signs of spring have got me excited for the warmer days to come and with it the change from cosy jumpers to vest tops and dresses. Along with the fact I’m slowly losing weight on Slimming World and the fact my wardrobe is a little bare after a clearout, I can’t wait to go shopping for a few new items for my spring wardrobe. I’m also looking for a dress which would be suitable for a wedding or two as my brother and his partner are getting married as is my best friend. Thankfully I found a few gorgeous dresses at really reasonable prices and now I can’t wait for their big day!
With regards to my Spring wardrobe, I’m not planning on buying a whole new wardrobe just yet because I’m hoping to continue losing weight and don’t want to buy a lot of items which will then no longer fit. Instead, I will be buying a few wardrobe staples to see me through the next few months. You can see some of the items I have my eye on below.
Femme Tastic T-shirt from H&M
I love a bit of colour in my wardrobe and when I saw this T-shirt on a fellow bloggers Instagram feed I knew I had to have it. I love the bright colour it’s the epitome of spring, the mid-sleeve makes it a great choice for this time of year and I’m not opposed to a slogan T-shirt or two.
Cropped Denim Jacket from Topshop
A denim jacket is, without a doubt, is a wardrobe staple and I’d even say it’s a year-round essential. I love this Cropped Denim Jacket from Topshop, it has a traditional denim jacket look but with a modern cropped design, the long sleeves make it great for those cooler days but can be rolled up when the sun is shining. A denim jacket is so versatile and can be paired with so many outfits and styles.
Jersey Wrap Dress from David Nieper
Colour, flowers and floaty… could this dress be any more spring? After a long, dark winter I’m looking forward to adding some colour back into my wardrobe this spring and I think I would struggle to find anything more colourful or spring-like than this gorgeous womenswear dress. I also think the denim jacket above would be lovely paired with this dress on those colder days.
Embroidered Skinny Jeans from New Look
I’ll admit that the majority of time I live in jeans, I find them really comfortable and versatile when it comes to styling them. I have a range of different brands and colours in my wardrobe already but I absolutely love these Embroidered Jeans. They give off a lovely spring vibe with the floral stitching and I like the ankle-grazing style which is perfect as the weather warms up.
Leopard Print Chelsea Boots from Dorothy Perkins
Leopard print is a bit like marmite, you either love it or you hate it but one thing is for sure it’s here to stay. I don’t own any leopard print items but that’s something I’m determined to change this spring. I love these leopard print boots, they would look great with a pair of skinny jeans and would add a lovely dimension to an outfit. They would be great for clashing patterns which is tipped to be a hot trend for 2018.
