You all know by now that each month I receive a delivery of tasty food items from Degustabox. It’s a delivery I always look forward to as it’s full delicious food items, some new to the market and a lot I have never tried before. June’s box was jam packed with tasty food products that are perfect for BBQ season. The timing couldn’t have been better as we had a BBQ just a few days after the box arrived.
I love handy cupboard products for quick dinners, and these handy single serve pesto pots from Salca are a must have. Like the Classic Bail Pesto Jars, these pots are made with fresh, fragrant Italian basil, Grana Padano cheese, Pecorino Romano cheese and pine nuts.
Described as ‘Belgian Butters’ these delicious biscuits are made in Belgium, with love and craftsmanship and using only the best ingredients. Perfect with a cup of tea or with a scoop of ice cream. I fell in love with these biscuits. They’re so buttery and heaven like, I ate the whole box in matter of days – oops.
Miracle Noodles is a premier low calorie, soy free, gluten free, vegan and non gmo, Kosher Shirataki noodle and rice. I have to be honest and say I haven’t tried these as they just don’t appeal to me. I know other people who have tried them and enjoy them, they just aren’t for me.
If you enjoy a good lager then why not give King Star, the perfect drink to accompany any BBQ. Drawing on the expertise and knowledge of master brewers to hand craft a big and bold lager which is laced with flavour. I don’t often drink alcohol so this product will most likely be enjoyed by my brother or dad at our next BBQ.
This months product of the month was Butterkist Yogurt popcorn. Air popped corn is coated with a creamy yogurt, creating an new taste experience. Contains only 95 calories per serving. I’m just not sure yogurt and popcorn should be mixed, I couldn’t bring myself to try them so gave them to my nephew to enjoy.
Tangy and oh so delicious. Haywards medium silverskins brings a tantalising tang to any dish. I love pickled onions and these are perfect as a side dish, or as a cheeky snack. Great with a BBQ or Cheese platter.
Whether it’s for burgers, hot dogs or chicken why not add a twist this BBQ season with the Branston Spicy Tomato Relish. I really like this relish, it has a good kick but isn’t overpowering. It’s perfect for on burgers or as a dip for chips etc.
If you like making your own burgers then why not give this tasty burger mix a try. Each packet contains the perfect amount to make 4-6 burgers so there’s no need to mess around with measuring. Simply add to mince, shape the burgers, grill and enjoy! I have yet to try this but I’m really looking forward to trying it next time we have a BBQ, it sounds delicious!
Made with 98% spring water, blended with naturally extracted flesh of lemons and essential oils from the skin. A touch of sweetness has been added in the form of Stevia and beet and cane sugar. Each serving has just 28 calories and 1.5 teaspoons of sugar. I was really looking forward to trying this as Cloudy Lemon sounds amazing. Unfortunately, I wasn’t very keen on the flavour so passed it on to my sister to enjoy.
This amazing little pot makes one portion of the Bakedin miracle Mug Brownie. A rich and velvety Belgian chocolate brownie, baked in a mug, in the microwave in under 2 minutes. This is one item I was desperate to try. It sounds delicious and is so quick and easy to make. Unfortunately for me I don’t own a microwave so I gave it to my sister to enjoy. She said it’s delicious, and now I really want to buy a microwave to try it!
Smooze Mango & Coconut is a freeze at home fruit ice. It’s made from all natural ingredients including 40% coconut milk and 50% fresh fruit and puree. It’s free from all major allergens and is 100% vegan. I tried these on a hot day last week, but didn’t like them very much. That’s down to the fact I don’t like coconut very much. If you like coconut and mango these would make a tasty Summer treat.
Amoy coconut milk is made from ripe, fresh coconuts in Thailand. It adds a delicious flavour and richness to traditional Asian dishes such as Thai curries and desserts. As I mentioned above, I’m not a fan of coconut milk so I haven’t tried this yet. I might add it to a curry, otherwise I will give it to my sister to enjoy.
