April has been and gone in the blink of an eye and honestly, I can’t believe how fast this year is going – we’re halfway through May already. I am loving the longer days, warmer weather and getting out and about more so it does have its benefits.
The month of April was a bit of a relaxed affair, I visited family which was lovely, went out for a meal, spent the weekend with my nephew, and I enjoyed a lot of days at my local nature reserve when the weather was nice. It hasn’t been bad at all but there’s nothing to shout home about, I did book a holiday for the end of August and I can’t wait to enjoy a week by the sea, I’m already planning the days and activities I want to enjoy. Without further ado here’s my #LittleLoves for April.
Recently I have been on a mission to improve my blog, I touched on this last time I joined in with Little Loves and I’m still working on it. In fact, I bought a blogger course which is jam-packed with courses, e-books and blogging seminars. I have been getting stuck in and reading as much as I can, I’m trying to read a short course each evening before bed and then implement what I have learnt.
I also received the book Blogging My Way To Richest
I will admit I watch a lot of TV, I normally have it on in the background when I’m working as I find the background noise helps, although I do occasionally become a bit engrossed in what’s on and have to turn it off to work.
There are a few shows I have been loving recently, Teen Mom OG which I have watched since the show started and I love, Teen Mom UK – a bit of a theme here and then The Charlotte Show which I have really enjoyed too. Sadly, all of these shows have now ended for this season so I’ll have to find a few other shows to enjoy. If you have any suggestions do let me know in the comments, I love finding new shows and series to watch.
This might be a little bit of a cheat… but my nephew and I took a trip to the local nature reserve where we heard a lot of toot-tooting from the miniature trains. There’s a train track and miniature trains at the reserve and for only £2 each you can ride on the trains around a short track, it lasts around 10 minutes which I think is really good value. Although Maxx wasn’t sure about the loud train whistle while we were riding and he sat with his fingers in his ears, he’s not a fan of loud noises and never has been but we both really enjoyed the ride and can’t wait to go again.
Yes, yes that is my cat sticking her paw in my water. She has no consideration and apparently what’s mine is hers, haha.
I’m not going to claim to be the next Gordon Ramsey, far from it… but recently I have been making much more effort to cook things from scratch in the kitchen and have healthier meals in my bid to lose weight on my Slimming World journey. I have been making meatballs, Chinese fakeaway, SW friendly pizzas, and I’m really enjoying the new food and improving my cooking skills too.
I tend to enjoy the same food over and over again until I have eaten it so much I don’t eat it again for a long time, I have always done this and been very faddy and fussy when it comes to food. Hopefully, with all the variety this will change and improve my eating habits, if it doesn’t happen now it’s never going to.
I’m trying to be a little more adventurous when it comes to clothes and to stop dressing like it’s still the middle of winter with a baggy jumper to hide behind. I have slowly been swapping my baggy clothes for items that are more fitted and although it is a little out of my comfort zone I am enjoying wearing different clothes and rediscovering clothes I used to enjoy wearing.
Bargains! I love nothing more than finding a good deal or offer that will save me money, I can’t remember the last time I paid full price for anything. When I intend to buy anything I search online to see if there are any valid discount codes I can use, I also go through cashback websites such as Quidco and Topcashback when making a purchase which earns me money on a purchase I was making anyway.
This month I found a brilliant offer which I thought I should share here in case anyone else would like to benefit from it. If you have a dog this offer will be perfect for you. I saw on Facebook that Tails.com was offering a free 2 week trial of their hand blended, specially selected dog food. I knew this would be perfect for my sisters Newfie cross puppy, Storm so I told her about it. Even better I managed to find a code which gave her a full 1 month trial of the food, a whopping 22kg of food for Storm to try. All she had to pay was a delivery fee of £1 and I have heard so many good things about the service and the food.
If you would like to give it a try then use my link and you will get a free 1 months trial. If you decide to keep receiving the food then your subscription will continue, if you choose to end the trial after the month you simply cancel your subscription on your account and you won’t be charged for the next month and won’t receive any more food.
