The Steama by Sensio Home – Review

I’m not the most adventurous person when it comes to food, in fact I would probably be classed as a fussy eater. I go through phases of eating the same thing day in and day out until I’ve eaten so much of it that I no longer like it. I’ve been like this with food for as long as I can remember but it’s a habit I’m trying to change.

I was recently sent a Steama to review and this is proving to be a very useful piece of equipment in helping me eat different foods and I’m actually enjoying trying different things and shock horror enjoying a few different vegetables too.

The Steama is an electric three tiered steamer which is capable of steaming vegetables, meat and rice. It is a robust machine that is small enough to store on a worktop without taking up too much space but big enough to use to prepare vegetables or meals for the whole family.

As well as being fussy I’m not much of a vegetable lover, in fact until last year I only ate sweetcorn and would turn my nose up at anything else. This all changed when my dad bought a steamer and we had steamed vegetables at Christmas. The veg tasted amazing! Instead of broccoli being a wet, sloppy, tasteless mess it was dry, had a bit of bite to it and had a lot of taste too. I can honestly say I now really like broccoli – yay for progress!

Key features include:

  • Patent lock and store containers
  • Dishwasher safe containers
  • 1.2 litre water capacity
  • 60 minute timer
  • 3 tier system
  • Automatic switch off
  • Instant steam

The Steama is packed full of great features to help you steam to perfection and it really does just that. I have steamed broccoli, carrots, sweetcorn, chicken, salmon, potatoes and even rice, I have been really impressed at how easy it is to use and clean and just how packed full of flavour the food is when it’s cooked in the steama.

My overall thoughts of the Steama are that it’s a fantastic steamer and is worth paying that little extra for the unique features, it’s a product that you’ll use day in and day out. I wouldn’t be without it now. Not only has it helped me try new foods but it has also encouraged my nephew to eat vegetables too and it’s giving me the opportunity to eat in a healthier way which is great for my waist line.

I would say go for it! We use ours a lot and vegetables taste so much better using a steamer.
