My brother and his partner are currently planning their wedding. Okay, let’s be honest, my brother is leaving most of the details to his partner, but I think that’s the norm? Most girls dream of their wedding from a young age, the dress, the venue and meeting that perfect someone.
My brother’s partner actually runs her own wedding planning business so she definitely has a head start when it comes to weddings. I can’t wait to see her dress, colour scheme, tables etc, I know it will be beautiful. All this wedding planning got me thinking about what my dream wedding would look like and I thought I would share that with you all below.
I would love to get married in a church. There’s something so beautiful and traditional about being married in a church, the vicar, the stunning surroundings and the atmosphere it creates. However, I’m not religious so I’m not sure if this is a real option when it comes to a wedding venue for me. Of course, there are so many other options, there are many beautiful stately homes which make great wedding venues, gorgeous beaches and many, many other options to consider. One thing you could never be short of is a venue.
When it comes to jewellery I really like rose gold, however, this isn’t a colour I would choose for a wedding ring. I would like more of a traditional wedding ring so would choose white gold. I really like the wishbone and crossover style wedding rings rather than a band and although I don’t want something that would be too ‘blingy’, I don’t want it to be plain either. I could see choosing a wedding ring being really difficult, not only because I’m extremely fussy by nature, but because there’s just so much choice out there. F.Hinds wedding rings section has a great selection of wedding rings and has been one shop I have looked at when thinking about what my dream wedding would look like.
When it comes to the dress I constantly change my mind, not only because fashion changes over the years but because there are so many beautiful dresses out there, why restrict yourself to one style! I love the beautiful, delicate vintage lace style dresses. They look so elegant and beautiful without looking over the top. That being said, I have been known to admire a few princess/meringue-style wedding dresses. I think on the dress front I will have to wait until I’m ready to get married to make a firm decision, and if I’m honest, I think it would simply come down to which I liked best on the day.
The Colour Scheme
Yes, I’m one of those annoying people who wants everything colour coordinated, right down to the wedding favours, invites and even confetti. Over the top? Perhaps… but it’s a once in a lifetime (I hope) event and I want it to be perfect. I really like blush pink and grey for a colour scheme. Grey suits, blush pink bridesmaid dresses, blush pink chair bows… I can feel myself getting carried away just thinking about it all.
It’s possible I could turn into bridezilla given half the chance… Are you currently planning your big day? What’s the most important aspect of planning your wedding?
